Do you have friends and/or family who aren’t able to make it out to watch our games in person? No need for them to wait for you to send them clips from Hudl or Trace (our new film, analysis & highlight system)…
Instead, they can watch HOME games LIVE on the NFHS network (including tonight’s match vs Scott High). Additionally, you’ll be able to access the games On Demand after they’ve been broadcast live. I’ve seen games on other school’s systems that are more than a year old, so you’ve got some time. Some of the schools that we visit also have this system, and it is becoming more popular with TN high schools.

In order to watch events on the NFHS network, you’ll need a subscription. The cost for this is $9.99 per month or you can opt for an annual subscription for $69.99 per year. A portion of that will be sent back to our school, as long as you name ACHS as your home school.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The subscription will limit the number of devices that can be watching at one time per subscription. If you’re trying to watch from home, and share your login/password with a family member someplace else who tries to watch at the same time, it will kick one of you off the stream.

As an admin on the system, I can create live events for any event on the turf field, and hopefully in the gym too before long. Everything from soccer & football, to band competitions & graduation ceremonies. I’m going to try Track meets this spring too! So if you know of an event that isn’t ACHS Lady Mavs Soccer, and think we should broadcast it, let me know and I’ll get it set up. Last week, I streamed the NMS vs CAK football game, and it seemed to work well.

I hope this turns out to be useful for those of you with loved ones who aren’t able to make it out in person. Just one more thing to keep in mind: the camera picks up crowd noise as well as a feed I’ve got wired in from the announcer. That being the case, keep in mind that the folks at home can hear you too! Nothing like Mom & Dad getting called out by Grandma, a hundred miles away, for screaming at referees during the soccer game, hahaha!
